Astronomical observation instruments used by the ancient Egyptians.

The pharaohs invented simple tools for astronomical observation and locate astronomical constellations . The most important tool used is often called " merkht " which consists of two tools which were used by two observers


The first tool : a short branch , a thick terminal with a slot musselsThe second tool : it is a rule with a level , with a thin thread at the bottom was attached to a piece of lead , so that pulling the thread to be vertical, and is carried horizontally.The method of use :A person sitting on the north side and one on the south side to the observer , and to determine the times when the star passes through the vertical wire on the horizontal ruler to see what time it passes through the heart, left or right eye or any part of the body of the viewer , for example, says ( I've seen the star in the left eye of the viewer to 3:00 ) . But during the day , sundials ( To Measure the height of the shadow of a column , for example) are used to determine the time . *
